SONNY RED – BREEZING – JAZZLAND 32 – M-/M- WITH BLUE MITCHELL – MONO
This Jazzland session was recorded on November 3, 1960 and features Sonny Red on alto, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Yusef Lateef on tenor, Barry Harris on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass and Albert “Tootie” Heath on drums. SIDE 1: BROTHER B.; ALL I DO IS DREAM OF YOU; THE NEW BLUES and DITTY. SIDE 2: ‘TEEF; BREEZING; A HANDFUL OF STARS and IF THERE IS SOMEONE LOVLIER THAN YOU. This is a MONO recording.
I have graded this LP and the record jacket as M- for following reasons. The vinyl on this LP is clear of any signs of marks or wear. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole except for a couple of light marks. The record jacket has a M- rating, as there is no real sign of wear, except at the very bottom of the lower left corner. I was unable a capture the true hue of the cover, no matter what light I shot it in. It is a very subtle tone.
