Highly coveted classic album from the great tenor SONNY ROLLINS Saxophone Colossus on Prestige Records (7079). This is the 1st pressing that features the West 50th New York address on the labels and back cover, the microgroove, and in the runout features the engineer’s initials following the cat #.

USA shipping via USPS Media Mail. S/H is $5. Will combine shipping with other LPs / items.

Record(s) will be shipped in the medium-specific, high quality mailers with corners reinforced. Record will be in its original inner sleeve in the dust jacket all in an acid-free, anti-static protective outer sleeve. Should the buyer have his/here own method that he/she would like implemented, I’ll be willing to oblige the request (within reason!).

Sleeve Condition: VG-

The sleeve is really in decent shape! There are no seam splits. The overall integrity of the jacket is VG. However, one will notice from the picture that the laminate is beginning to peel ofc bottom right. Also, one can see that there is some staining along the jacket’s opening. I think it may benefit from a general cleaning , but I’ll leave that up to the buyer. Overall (and after being shocked at how other people are grading records nowadays!), I’d still feel fine about giving the Sleeve a VG- considering the rarity of the album. The album itself appears at glance to have a few surface scratches, and playback does indeed have surface noise. As a rule of thumb I don’t clean the records that aren’t mine from the start, but I would say this album would benefit greatly from some cleaning. The labels are absolutely perfect and feature the lovely early Prestige “fireworks” art.

I’ve attempted to provide more pictures to help you with your decision; I personally believe that the album would serve as a better than average placeholder since I wouldn’t feel bad about playing nor displaying it, but I’m certainly not suggesting it is flawless!
