This is the "RVG" stamped, Deep Groove, P-pressing of SONNY ROLLINS' "Sonny Rollins Volume 1" on the "767 Lexington Ave” labels of Blue Note BLP 1542. Musicians include Sonny Rollins, Donald Byrd, Max Roach, Wynton Kelly, Gene Ramey
VINYL plays beautifully, clean, powerful, dynamic and strong. Ensemble sections are punchy, strong, clean. Some light ticks and pops. No Skips. No locked grooves. No distortion. Very Good gloss. Handful of hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can't feel it you won't hear it). The "767 Lexington Ave " labels are clean with spindle marks. Sonny Rollins’ masterpiece at full force. COVER is in okay shape, corners worn. Seams and spine show much wear, bottom seam split end to end. Water damage on lower cover, end to end. "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd St., New York 23" back jacket in bad shape, ringwear and tears, large taped section covering album review and missing album stock/paper. Please see photos.
