Up for bids is an original self-titled Mono Jazz LP by Sonny Rollins called "Tenor Madness" on Prestige Records. PRLP 7047. Released in 1956.
This is the 1958 pressing with the "203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J." on both labels.
Deep Groove pressing!
Edges of record are raised.
Matrix (or trail-off) numbers have the hand-etched "RVG" then "PRLP-7047-A", then a stamped "2" and lastly a hand-etched "AB" for Side 1, and a hand-etched, sideways "D" which is right next to "RVG" on its left, and lastly "PRLP-7047-B" for Side 2.
Comes with original Prestige Records inner sleeve with same Bergenfield address on one side's bottom. Sleeve is in VG Minus condition with some splitting and clear tape on all sides.
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in VG Minus to VG condition. Some wear and marking on front and back. Name written on both sides of cover. Top corner at opening has 2 3/4" of clear tape on it. Top corner at spine also has clear tape on it. Both ends at opening have 1/4" splits.
I would rate the record’s condition as a STRONG VG+. There are some minor marks that don't greatly affect play. Both labels have writing on them. Sounds great on my player!
