Description
You're bidding on an original 1992 ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS pressing of the 1957 SONNY ROLLINS album, WAY OUT WEST (APJ 008)
LIMITED EDITION No. 0092
Mastering: Doug Sax
"This is an all tube recording from microphones to tape recorders and mastering."
Pressing done by RIT on 180 gram virgin vinyl.
AMG 5 STARS: The timeless Way out West established Sonny Rollins as jazz's top tenor saxophonist (at least untilJohn Coltrane surpassed him the following year). Joined by bassist Ray Brown and drummer Shelly Manne, Rollins is heard at one of his peaks on such pieces as "I'm an Old Cowhand (From the Rio Grande)," his own "Way out West," "There Is No Greater Love," and "Come, Gone" (a fast stomp based on "After You've Gone"). The William Claxton photo of Rollins wearing Western gear (and holding his tenor) in the desert is also a classic.
Condition: the sleeve grades NM. The record grades MINT. It has never been played or taken out of the inner sleeve. Check out my feedback score; you won't be disappointed.
