Description
Artist: SONNY ROLLINS
Title: “Way Out West”
Label: CONTEMPORARY. Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl. Label is yellow with black text, with deep groove. RCA pressing on premium grade vinyl. Catalog number is C 3530.
Both labels are stamped “Demonstration Copy – NOT FOR SALE – Your Dealer Has a Factory-Sealed Copy For You”.
The letter “H” is stamped in the deadwax on both sides, indicating the record was pressed at RCA’s Hollywood, Calif. plant. Matrix numbers “LKL-12-127-D2” and “LKL-12-128-D2” are stamped in the runout area.
Year: 1957.
Personnel: Sonny Rollins – tenor sax; Ray Brown – bass; Shelly Manne – drums.
Condition:
DISC: Playing surface is NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, immaculate. Appears to have been played one or two times at most, and handled with care. Labels are clean and pristine. Fidelity is awesome. A superb listening experience.
JACKET: Jacket with kakabuchi frame, is EXCELLENT. Front artwork is clean and bright, with only a slight bit of surface wear beginning to appear at the top right corner and edge. Nice seams and spine. Light wear at corner tips. Reverse has darkened slightly with age, but is otherwise clean with no writing or stickers, except for the aforementioned NOT FOR SALE disclaimer which is stamped at the top. Overall a very fine jacket to accompany the beautiful disc.
