THE SONS OF TRUTH – A Message from the Ghetto (1972) The Gospel Truth-2714 – EX/EX (cover/vinyl) PROMO LABEL
While this may be categorized as a “gospel” album by the label, a more accurate description would be heavy fuzz-funk with massive thick beats, bass and layered fuzz guitar by a group straight out of the ghetto. I’ve never seen another copy of this, and it is totally mind-blowing and killer from the moment you put the needle down on track one. Amazing and necessary.
This is a beautiful copy. The cover is tight and bright with a 3-inch seam split at the bottom from jacket opening in and only a hint of wear. The PROMO LABEL vinyl is super clean and glossy with only insignificant sleeve scuffs that don’t affect play – it is beautiful. Most would grade this higher. I grade this conservatively: EX/EX (cover/vinyl).
