GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED
Note : il primo lato contiene sei brani composti e diretti da Giuliano Sorgini. Atmosfere sonore rilassanti dettate principalmente da musica jazz. Fanno eccezione " THE HEN ", un ottimo ballabile rhythm'n'blues e " A GIOVANNA ", tema romantico e sognante. Tra i brani jazz, a mio avviso, il migliore è " SURVIVAL ", ben scandito da batteria e basso ma anche " ZED " con l'organo in rilievo. Sul secondo lato cinque composizioni a carattere jazzistico tranne " ROMANTICO SOGNO " dalle dolci atmosfere. La direzione orchestrale è di Roberto Pregadio salvo il brano " KOMONIA " diretto da Giovanni Tommaso con il suo Complesso Jazz. Probabilmente quest'ultima traccia è la migliore, ottimo pianoforte contrabbasso diropente e belle improvvisazioni quasi free-jazz. Da non sottovalutare affatto le due belle composizioni di Zoffoli : " THE FIVE " e " GERRY ", ambedue dotate di buona ritmicità, con vibrafono ed organo in bell'evidenza.
Notes : the first side features six instrumental tunes composed and conducted by Giuliano Sorgini. Relaxing sound atmospheres mainly based on jazz except " THE HEN ", an exciting rhythm'n'blues and " A GIOVANNA ", a romantic and dreamy theme. Among the jazz tunes of side one, in my opinion the best are " SURVIVAL " well-beaten by drums and bass and " ZED " with organ in prominence. On the second side four jazz compositions as well as " ROMANTICO SOGNO " plenty of sweet sonorities. Orchestra conducted by Roberto Pregadio except " KOMONIA " performed by Giovanni Tommaso with his Complesso Jazz. Just this tune is the best on the second side : excellent piano, devastating double-bass, fine almost free-jazz improvisations. To not underestimate at all, the two excellent compositions by Carlo Zoffoli : " THE FIVE " and " GERRY ", both based on fast rhythmics with vibraphone and organ in preminence.
