Description

SOUL*FUNK*LYMAN WOODARD*8TH*EIGHTH*DAY*INVICTUS*LISTEN!

The 8th Day's Second Album is a bit of an elusive one despite eventually becoming Reasonably big they were still finding their tune here. This time around they had renegade Lyman Woodard in the group for a brief period. He contributes to this LP in a major way with the killer instrumental cut and homage too Dope, Cheba. The rest of the LP is about God so we can guess Lyman's personal religious high at the time. This as an almost Psychedelic work of Funk genius and it sucks you right in like the title promises. Long been sought, and really very hard to turn up despite. I have only ever had this one. Listen to Lyman's goodness Cheba. Here:

For a more straight up approach try this. Heaven Is There To guide Us. Here:

This is a great LP despite terrible sales at the time. It's always left to the next generation to re appraise the last. Can you go wrong with Holland-Dozier-Holland though?

The vinyl has one unfortunate inch long mark which does sound, on the track Good Book apart from that the vinyl would be EX+ but I can only safely say G/low VG. The cover is a Very strong VG+ though

For track listing see super size photo above.

The Photo and the sound clip are included as part of the description.

Thank you.

Please see my entire auction for a lot of very rare Jazz, Funk, Soul, Cuban Funk, Breaks, Disco and more. This is a big sale. Don't miss out.

Record Collector Magazine Grading System. MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Un played should be Mint. EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
