Take a deep breath, northern soul fanatics; this isn't the mega-rare original 45, which is desired by every collector from Hoboken to Hamburg. There were only 500 originals produced; this reissue is also scarce, but at least it's available!
The right Reverend Patrinell Staten Wright is well-known in Seattle for her leadership of the Total Experience Gospel Choir; this record documents the only time she strayed from the holy path into secular music. It's become one of the most sought-after singles in soul. An interviewer asked Ms. Wright if she had a box of 'em, and she said no, she just had one, but would sell it "for ten thousand dollars". The current going price is only about half that, but she'll probably have eager would-be buyers soon!
This is the most famous of the highly acclaimed Wheedle's Groove set of ten 45s, issued in 2011. Here's an UNPLAYED MINT example of this scarce gem. Even this reissue is rare...only 2000 Wheedle's Groove sets were issued. The single faithfully reproduces the original label, and the vinyl is superbly remastered to give you the sound of the '60s; it's as if you stepped out of a time machine 45 years ago and bought the single at the corner record shop. You don't often see individual records from this set offered...
