Vinyl Grading System:

Mint (M)

Most Jamaican recordings will never be in this category due to the fact that vinyl pressing plants used a lot of recycled records. They were recycling before it was popular!

New or Near Mint (NM or M-)

I will use this grade if the record is new or has no obvious marks except maybe a visual scuff that has no audible effect on listening, and no writing or major wear on the cover.

VG+

May have visual marks on the record that do not affect playback, may show some wear and tear of time. There will be no sign of sun, water damage, or stains on the cover. NO stickers or writing on cover.

VG

There may be some surface marks that affect audio playback, such as old labels etc embedded in the record during manufacture, scuff marks and scratches that can be heard. And/or the cover may have writing or noticeable wear, stickers, split seams etc.

Good (G and G+)

The record will play without skipping but has a lot of noise due to surface marks or quality of pressing. May also be off center, quite common in JA pressings. Record may have writing on it. Cover may have writing, wear, split seams etc. May be worn due to number of plays.

Poor (P)

It may be a rare record that you want to collect because of the artwork or the Artist or Producer but the audio quality will be bad. The record may be warped, cracked, off center, and play with a lot of noise. The record may have been played a lot!   Obviously NO RETURNS.

I try to be as true as I can to this grade system. If you need more details I will send closeup photos or better details on request.
