Hello and Welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. TITLE/ARTIST: "Sounds of the South" by Various Artists recorded by Alan Lomax on the Atlantic Records label (1346) in so-called "stereo" sound, issued in 1960.
CONDITION OF VINYL: Near Mint(Graded visually using special daylight balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: EX(Jacket has a bottom right corner ding and an upper left saw cut; otherwise, shiny and glossy; NOTE: Includes original Lomax booklet in superb condition - please see photos of actual album offered). 
SPECIAL FEATURES: Very rare original recordings, recorded in the field by Alan Lomax; great back cover notes by Lomax and Gary Kramer; SPECIAL NOTE: This record includes the amazing original 4-page full size insert written by Alan Lomax; it may be more valuable than the recordings themselves. SPECIAL NOTES: All of our albums are visually graded, but we will gladly play them to confirm condition. Please email us if you would like that service. RATING SYSTEM: New (sealed in original wrap); Near Mint (very light wear and uniform glossy vinyl appearance; one or two light rubs on jacket surface or corner); VG++ (light wear that is visible but not audible; light wear to jacket edges or corners); VG+ (many marks on record surface that are lightly audible during quiet passages; small splits, marks, or tears on jacket); VG (surface covered with light scuffs or marks that are audible during all but loudest passages; jacket extensively marked, split, or torn: note: we only sell this grade on very rare records).
