Original late 60's 45 on the DUNWRIGHT label
Plays VG+ to VG++
Odd and completely obscure late 60’s sounding fuzz psych from the Dallas Texas area. “Population Zero” seems to evoke a number of influences in one 2-minute song, starting out with a classic blast of Nuggets fuzz, then turning into a passionate bit of blue eyed soul pop with muted mariachi horns, like a demented South of the Border take on Love’s “Que Vida.” Then, somewhere around the 2-minute mark, the song inexplicably channels “The Game Of Love” for two quick verses and then backs off before the lawyers’ phone calls start pouring in. Then it all ends with another blast of fuzz. Texas schizophrenia never sounded so good.
