Description
Excellent vintage soul LP featuring THE SPELLBINDERS on the COLUMBIA “360 Sound” label, from the mid sixties. Title is “The Magic of The Spellbinders.” Catalog number is CL 2514, mono pressing, red “360 Sound” label with white print.
The Spellbinders originally hailed from New Jersey, where their “spellbinding” harmonies undoubtedly inspired their name. Members were ROBERT SHIVES, JAMES WRIGHT, BEN GRANT, McARTHUR MUNFORD, and ELOUISE PENNINGTON. The group signed with Columbia Records in 1965 and Van McCoy wrote and produced their first single “For You.” McCoy also co-produced this album and wrote four of the tracks.
Jacket is in excellent condition with beautiful graphics, no splits or wear, reverse has a couple minor small stains but overall very fine. Still has most of the original shrink wrap covering about 85% of the surface area.
Vinyl is excellent, has nearly all of the original gloss, a couple slight hairlines but no serious marks, plays beautifully with excellent fidelity.
Side 1 contains following songs: “Intermission Riff” (R. Wetzel), “Can’t Get Out of This Mood” (Loesser-McHugh), and “Foxy” (E. Davis).
Side Two contains following tunes: “Our Delight” (Dameron), “Bahia” (A. Barroso), and “Bingo Domingo” (Davis).
