Description
This Spencer Davis Group - Their First LP (TL 5242 mono) is a rare UK first pressing from 1965 on the silver/black Fontana label. The pressing is on thick 150gm vinyl with 687343 1L//1v420 1231 and 687343 2L//1v420 1112 matrix numbers.
The record itself still has a very high gloss. There is minimal spindle marking on the labels and no hole wear. There are a faint wispy lines on both sides of the record but these have no audible effect. I would grade the vinyl as excellent or better. (Please see photographs for a better idea of record quality.)
The original UK patent applied for poly lined inner sleeve is in good, slightly creased condition.
The front laminated sleeve is in very good condition with only minor ringwear. There is some minor wear to the corners and open edge. The spine is in excellent condition and the text is clearly legible.
My name and old address are written in the top left hand corner on the rear of the sleeve.
I bought the album from new and it has been kept upright in a custom built cupboard away from light and damp in virtually dust free conditions since then. It had minimal playings when new and has been unplayed since - apart from the check I carried out recently prior to listing it on Ebay.
This album is in excellent condition considering it is 45 years old. All tracks play exceptionally well.
The LP will be sent in a strong brown LP mailer with stiffener. Additional packaging and tracking will be used for overseas mail.
