Description
I will dispense with my usual opening redoric, and get right down to the "meat" of this auction. Some of you might remember that last year I came across a "VG" (possibly "VG+") copy of this same record. I just recently bought a large lot of 70's/80's material, and staring right in the face was this incredible copy!
Now, for the "forbidden topic".....price: As I stated above, the last copy I found was at best a "VG+" copy. Because of the band involved and it's rarity, the auction item drew lots and lots of bids.... the last two were both $560 (someone waited to the last second and just happen to match the previous high bidder). And although I know that the dreaded (and hated on my part) price guides will list this NEAR MINT copy at $750, I am going to start the bidding at $500....and let the rest of you decide its real curren value. If $500+ is just too much to pay in one lump sum.... "talk" with me, as you will find I am very flexible!!!
- ARTIST: SPIDERS (Yep, the original Alice Cooper band!)
- TITLES: "Don't Blow Your Mind" / "No Price Tag"
- COMPANY LABELS: Santa Cruz 10,1003
- VINYL CONDITION: Near mint. The "A" side looks MINT; and the "B" side would be too, accept there are a few extremely light paper scuffs (NOT scratches). You'll need strong lighting to see them!
- LABEL CONDITION: Mint.
- JACKET CONDITION: Comes in a blue paper sleeve!
Those of you that have bought from me know that I am a VERY STRICT visual grader, so don't let my vinyl and label descriptions worry you. As is evidenced by my slowly but sure growing eBay Approval Rating, you may bid with confidence. And of course, everything is 100% guaranteed! Listed below is a brief chart that should explain my visual grading system:
- Mint: From what I can see, a record that appears to have never been played. Labels will be free of all defects (including storage wear). A picture sleeve will be free of all defects (including storage wear).
- M- (a.k.a. Mint-; or Near Mint): As you would expect, a very tough grading. I reserve it for an item (normally only a label or picture sleeve) where I spot just a very minor mark, which would be enough for me to shy away from the previously defined higher visual grading.
- VG++ (a.k.a. Very Good++): Really, not much difference between this one and my previously defined M- grading. You will not see anything offensive on the vinyl, labels or picture sleeve. However, I just wasn't comfortable using the previous grading. (I would rather undergrade an item that raise someone's expectations!)
- VG+ (a.k.a. Very Good+): On the record I have either spotted a couple of scuffs (NOT scratches) on the vinyl; or just the start of storage wear on one of the labels. A picture sleeve would typically have either the start of storage wear; or a very minor visual defect such as a price stamp or a very tiny name in the corner. Trust me, you will be very pleased with this item.
- VG (a.k.a. Very Good): This is the last visual grading that I use. The record either had light scuff marks (again, NOT scratches) on one side; or the label (maybe both if the vinyl is at least near mint) has some sort of visual defect such as storage wear, writing or sticker (which includes removal residue).
- Good, Fair, Poor: NOT in my auctions. I provide these poor valiant warriors with a heroes burial....they served someone well....and it is now time to send them to the "big jukebox in the sky"!
