Here we have one of the rarest and highly rated albums from the prog rock era on the very collectable RCA Neon label. This is a first UK pressing of the 1971 album Spring. Spring were formed in Leicester in 1970 and this album was their only release. Rated by many as one of the best prog rock albums of all time. A very atmospheric album, the band used no less than three mellotrons, in fact Spring has been called 'mellotron heaven' by fans of this unique instrument. The vinyl comes in the original triple fold-out sleeve and has the original black RCA poly-lined inner. The matrix numbers are A1/B1
Vinyl: - NEAR MINT (gleaming barely played vinyl, one very light & non-audible hairline each side, superb sound quality from my full test play)
Sleeve: - EX- (One tiny surface scuff on the front which can be seen in the top photo above the soldiers rifle. The other thing to mention is that the sleeve has a fault in the manufacture. The second machine fold in the sleeve is at an angle so that when the sleeve is closed together the front and back parts do not line up but sit at an angle to each other. This can also be seen in the top photo. I must reiterate that this is how the original sleeve was made and not the result of wear or damage. The spine is crisp and fully readable. The edges are in excellent condition with only the faintest of wear. Without the previous mentioned surface scuff the sleeve would otherwise grade as EX+)

Standards for the condition of vinyl records
MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
