Mercury SR 90199, RESPIGHI: Ancient Dances and Airs for Lute (Suites 1, 2, and 3), Antal Dorai / Philharmonia Hungarica, (1958) FR2 / FR3 (I) Indianapolis pressing (Recorded in Vienna): This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old, FR pressing that has spent many years on HP's TAS Super Disk List and deservedly so - the sound is VERY realistic with some very deep bass on side 2.  It is considered one of the very best of the Mercury’s for both its sound quality and performance. It is ranked #29 in TAS on Sid Marks’ final choices of the very best Mercury Living Presence recordings.  Recorded in Vienna in 1958, this is considered by many to be the definitive recording of this work.  This copy is my own, and the vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and exceptionally quiet.  There are a couple of barely audible tics and some very light scuffs that make no sound.  Other than that, this copy is virtually perfect. The vinyl looks and plays NM.  The labels are clean with no wear, but a few faint spindle trails. The jacket is clean and grades NM with no marks or seam splits (see photos).  The inner sleeve is also NM. Overall, this is a beautiful copy of this amazing golden age recording that plays virtually perfectly.
