Stack: "Above All" 1969, USA/Charisma Records CRS-303. Disc is in strong EX shape, some little hairlines do not sound, it plays M-. Cover has moderate ringwear on the front, back has just a bit of wear at the top, seams are worn but not split except for a crack in the center of the top seam, still a strong VG cover overall. Pinnacle wildassed California private heavy rock LP has a clear UK mod freakbeat influence in the best tracks. They sound kind of like an Americanized WHO to my ears. And really pro, this was a world class hard rock band that had a high-profile gigging schedule for a couple of years and wrote fantastic original songs. The short tracks on this record are mindblowing; "Only Forever", "Cars", and "Valleys" in particular are jaw-dropping. Killer crunchy distorted dual guitars and mighty double-bass drumming from the late Bob Ellis who had led the mid-60s Los Angeles garage punk band The Fabs ("Dinah Wants Religion" 45). Simply put, this is one of the ultimate scores for hard rock fans. There might be nothing rarer or better in this bag. This disc is really nice, you'd never need to upgrade it. Hold out for a copy with a mint cover if you want, but you may never get another shot at this ultra-rare LP in any shape short of divine intervention...
