Description

This LP is getting very difficult to find.

It's on the UK Dandelion label (owned by DJ, John Peel) and is entitled 'Bugger Off!' by the legendary pre-punk, blues, psych band Stackwaddy. They were a hard hitting band who liked to play in pubs and clubs. This is their second LP (catalogue no. 2310-231) and is much rarer than their self-titled first album. 'Bugger Off' was quickly withdrawn because of the album title. It was released originally in 1972 by which time Dandelion Records were being marketed by Polydor in the UK (there is a Polydor logo on the rear of the sleeve as well as the Dandelion motif). It is a rare record.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is quite fragile is in fine condition. The front shows some wear and creasing with minor discolouration. The rear sleeve shows some similar wear and also some ring wear. There is a 40mm (1.5 inch) horizontal tear at the mouth of the sleeve. there has been an attempt to repair this from the outside by using two strips of clear adhesive tape which have been discoloured with time but it has subsequently been repaired with one strip of tape from the inside. The edges and spine show some definite wear but the wording along the spine is 85% readable. I've graded the sleeve VG+.

INNER BAG -  Plain white die cut paper type with clear polythene inner.

RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played quite a few times. There are some superficial marks on each side. It plays through well on both sides with some surface noise, especially between tracks and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. there is one pronounced curved mark on track 5, side one but it plays through very quickly and very well without any major surface noise There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.

LABELS - The labels are white with the green and yellow Dandelion logo (textured feel) with brown wording. There are some spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 2310231 A//1 V420   11   2 (stamper 04) - side two - 2310231 B//1 V420   111   1 (stamper 04). I've graded the record as Ex- which I believe is very fair.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.

THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.

TRACK LISTING - SIDE ONE - ROSALYN, WILLIE THE PIMP, I'M YOUR HOOCHIE COOCHIE MAN, IT'S ALL OVER NOW, SEVERAL YARDS, YOU REALLY GOT ME - SIDE TWO - I'M A LOVER NOT A FIGHTER, MEAT PIES 'AVE COME BUT BAND'S NOT 'ERE YET, IT AIN'T EASY, LONG TALL SHORTY (MAINLY), REPOSSESSION BOOGIE, THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA..

BAND MEMBERS - OERM ANY FROM THE FOLLOWING : - KEVIN WILKINSON, JOHN KNAIL, MICK SCOTT, ROBIN GOODWIN, WAYNE JACKSON, STUART BARNHAM. I'M HONESTLY SURE EXACTLY WHO WAS IN THE LINE-UP AT THE TIME THIS LP WAS RECORDED BECAUSE IT KEPT CHANGING IN THE EARLY 1970'S).
