My Sunday bonus item this week is the RARE ORIGINAL 1972 U.S. ABC Records promo 45 RPM record with its original ABC Records stock company sleeve containing mono and stereo mixes of the track titled 'Dallas', the very first ABC Records single release from popular 1970s classic rock hitmakers Steely Dan.   It is ABC Records catalog number ABC-11323, promo copy with an inscription to that effect on the labels - Labels also bear one additional inscription which does not appear in my accompanying images.  'Dallas', along with the song 'Sail The Waterway', was one of the very first two tracks recorded and released by Steely Dan, prior to their first hit single 'Do It Again' (ABC Records catalog number of the later 'Do It Again' single is ABC-11338).  Both tracks were considered to be musically substandard by Becker and Fagan, and consequently they were never included on any of Steely Dan's albums; it is also debatable whether or not any stock commercial copies of 'Dallas' and 'Sail The Waterway' were ever issued by ABC Records at the time in 1972.  'Dallas' and 'Sail The Waterway' have been issued as singles B-sides and EP tracks over the years since 1972 - On offer here is the RARE ORIGINAL 1972 PROMO 45 of 'Dallas', with mono and stereo mixes.  Condition of record is VG, due mainly to a small scratch at the end of the stereo side which will cause a few ticks at the end of that side; otherwise record would be VG+ with a few small and light surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play.  Labels have a little contact wear, no other real flaws worth mentioning.  Condition of ABC Records stock company sleeve is a high VG+ with a few slight wrinkles as can be seen in the accompanying image, and a little bit of wear along the edges and on the corners.  This 45 would be a choice and rare addition to any Steely Dan or classic rock record collection!
