Stephen Stills - MANASSAS - Double LP - Atlantic SD 2-903 0996 pressed by Classic Records on Quiex SV 180 gram Super Vinyl. The latter part is real important to verifying 180 gram 1st edition.

After stops in The Buffalo Springfield, CSN(&Y) and a few solo albums for the Atlantic label, Stills recruited musical kindred-spirits including the likes of Chris Hillman (The Byrds) to form Manassas. The resulting debut, a 2-LP set from 1972, has been a perennial favorite since its' release. It's a big bubbling cauldron of country-rock-blue(s)-grass with blue eyed soul mixings plus Stills' penchant for Latin riffs (Suite: Judy Blue Eyes) thrown in for flavor. This collection not only showcases Stills' trademark voice and song writing, but finally lets his fiery guitar playing blaze through.

A sprawling masterpiece, akin to the Beatles' White Album, the Stones' Exile on Main St., or Wilco's Being There in its makeup, if not its sound. Rock, folk, blues, country, Latin, and bluegrass have all been styles touched on in Stephen Stills' career, and the skilled, energetic musicians he had gathered in Manassas played them all on this album. What could have been a disorganized mess in other hands, though, here all gelled together and formed a cohesive musical statement. The songs are thematically grouped: part one (side one on the original vinyl release) is titled "The Raven," and is a composite of rock and Latin sounds that the group would often perform in full live. "The Wilderness" mainly centers on country and bluegrass (Chris Hillman's and Al Perkins' talents coming to the forefront), with the track "So Begins the Task" later covered by Stills' old flame Judy Collins. Part three, "Consider" is largely folk and folk-rock. "Johnny's Garden," reportedly for the caretaker at Stills' English manor house and not for John Lennon as is often thought, is a particular highlight. Two other notables from the "Consider" section are "It Doesn't Matter" (later redone with different lyrics by the song's uncredited co-writer Rick Roberts on the first Firefall album) and "Move Around," which features some of the first synthesizer used in a rock context. The closing section, titled "Rock & Roll Is Here to Stay," is a rock and blues set with one of the landmarks of Manassas' short life, the epic "The Treasure." A sort of Zen-like meditation on love and "oneness," enlivened by the band's most inspired recorded playing it evolves into a bluesy groove washed in Stills' fierce electric slide playing. The delineation lines of the four themed song groupings aren't cut in stone, though, and one of the strengths of the album is that there is a lot of overlap in styles throughout. Unfortunately, the album has been somewhat overlooked over the years, even though Stills considers it some of the best work he has done. Bill Wyman (who guested on "The Love Gangster") has said he would have quit the Rolling Stones to join Manassas.

You are in the studio with the Group in this rare pressing.+

One of the major Super Groups of the late sixties, CROSBY, STILLS & NASH dominated the charts and influenced many musicians with their skillful harmonizing and folk-rock sound. This debut Album was well-received and began an association that would last in varying combinations for 25 years.

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time - Rated 262/500!

Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Songs of All Time - "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" - Rated 426/500!

The first album released by Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969 produced two Top 40 hits "Marrakesh Express" and "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". The album peaked at #6 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

The strong debut album lifted the group to stardom and helped initiate a change in popular music away from loud guitar music to more subdued folk tunes.

"I've seen Crosby, Stills and Nash burnin' ass," Jimi Hendrix declared in 1969. "They're groovy, Western-sky music." Hendrix knew what he was talking about. The trio first combined its golden hippie harmonies on this debut, featuring the seven-minute "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes." - rollingstone

"Written by Stills for ex-girlfriend Judy Collins, this epic harmony showcase kicked off CSN's debut album. Stills played most of the instruments, but as Nash told Rolling Stone, 'The three-part vocal blend was f*cking fantastic.'" - Rolling Stone

STEPHEN STILLS – STEPHEN STILLS  –   This Album was  mastered from the Original Session Tapes to 180 Gram Heavy Virgin Vinyl by RHINO Records

With this 1970 Self-Titled solo epic, STEVEN STILLS like band-mates of CSN&Y had decided to explore other musical avenues.

The London Session also allowed Stills to finally team up with Eric Clapton on GO BACK HOME.

This LP spawns the mega hit LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH.

The Album is a masterful mix of Southern California folk-pop sound that Stills helped forge, blended with the Latin, Swamp and Blues influences that he was ready to express.

Also collaborating are John Sebastian – Rita Coolidge – David Crosby – Graham Nash – Cass Elliott.  Engineered by Andy John and arranged in part by Arif Mandrun.  You can see why this is one of those great cover to cover LPs from any era.

ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME.

STARTING WITH THE YOUNG STILLS Buffalo Springfield What's That Sound? Complete Albums Collection 180g 5LP Box Set (Stereo/Mono)

On 180g Vinyl For The First Time! Limited Edition Of 5,000 Copies!
5LP Box Set Contains All Three Albums!
Remastered From Original Analog Tapes!

This premium boxed set includes all three albums released by the band in their three years together between 1966-1968. The first two albums are included as one stereo LP and one mono LP. All the music is newly remastered from the original analog tapes, all under the auspices of Neil Young.

"Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Richie Furay, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin played their first show together as Buffalo Springfield in 1966. The same year, the band recorded and released its self-titled debut, which included the iconic protest song, 'For What It’s Worth,' featuring lyrics as poignant now as they were then, in addition to standouts like 'Burned,' 'Do I Have To Come Right Out And Say It,' and the band's first single, 'Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing.'

"The group spent the first half of 1967 making Buffalo Springfield Again, which was the first album to feature songs written by Furay ('A Child's Claim To Fame.') Stills and Young both contributed some all-time classics with 'Bluebird' and 'Rock And Roll Woman' from Stills, and 'Mr. Soul' and 'Expecting To Fly' from Young.

"When Last Time Around came out in July 1968, the band members were in the midst of transitioning to new projects: Stills famously joined David Crosby and Graham Nash in CSN; Young went solo; and Furay started Poco with Jim Messina, who produced Last Time Around and played bass on two of the songs. Highlights abound on the album with Young's 'I Am A Child,' Furay's 'Kind Woman' and Stills' 'Uno Mundo.'"

JUST ROLL TAPE - Mastered from the Original Analog Master Tapes by Kevin Gray at Acoustech Mastering!

A moment in Rock and Roll history, Unearthed!

In April of 1968, after leaving Buffalo Springfield, but before joining CSN, Stephen Stills found himself in a New York recording session with then girlfriend Judy Collins. Stills wandered down the hall with an engineer and an acoustic guitar, and laying down a couple hundred-dollar bills, told the engineer “Just roll tape.” What he recorded in the ensuing hours was the first ever versions of what would become classics for Stephen Stills, CSN, CSNY, and Manassas. Manassas released two albums, 1972’s eponymous double-album debut and the 1973 follow-up, Down The Road. The Manassas album "Pieces" features alternate versions of two songs from Down The Road: "Do You Remember The Americans" and "Lies" (featuring guitarist Joe Walsh). The collection also includes the legendary group's unreleased performances of "Sugar Babe" and "Word Game," a pair of songs Stills recorded in 1971 for his second solo album. The remaining tracks include "Like A Fox," a song recorded with blues guitarist Bonnie Raitt on background vocals and the Latin-tinged "Tan Sola Y Triste" (Spanish for 'So Alone and Sad').

SUPER SESSION ORIGINAL COLUMBIA LABEL 180 GRAM PRESSING DECADES OUT OF PRINT  - The musicians are aiming high with their desire for a Super Session, for it's not something that can be planned. Only when the time, place and audience play along, when one's lucky star is shining brightly, and the musicians have a good day, then one of music's great moments might be captured on tape. Not forgetting the recording technicians who also have to be in the mood. In 1968 this all happened to be the case with the majority of the nine numbers on this Columbia LP. All in all, one must consider the numbers with Stephen Stills as most successful in the sense of a session because here each musician inspires the others. In the super session with Kooper and Bloomfield, the guitarist stands in the limelight while the other musicians back him up.

Crosby, Stills & Nash Daylight Again 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP  Cut From The Original Analog Masters by Chris Bellman!

As members of one of rock’s first supergroups, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash helped define the Woodstock generation through their peerless harmonies, resonant songwriting and deep commitment to political and social causes.

Daylight Again is a 1982 studio album by the band Crosby, Stills & Nash, their fourth of completely original material, and seventh in total. It peaked at #8 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, the final time the band has made the top ten to date. Three singles were released from the album, all making the Billboard Hot 100: "Wasted on the Way" peaked at #9, "Southern Cross" at #18, and "Too Much Love to Hide" at #69.

The genesis of the album lies in recordings made by Stephen Stills and Graham Nash at intervals in 1980 and 1981, the album slated to be a Stills-Nash project. They employed Art Garfunkel, Timothy B. Schmit, and others to sing in place of where David Crosby might have been.

Executives at Atlantic Records, however, had little interest in anything but CSN product from any member of the group, and held out for the presence of Crosby, forcing Nash and Stills to start paying for the sessions out-of-pocket. They began to turn toward the company's point of view, however, and decided to invite Crosby to participate at the eleventh hour. He brought two of his own tracks to the album, "Delta," where Stephen and Graham squeezed their vocals into David's already-taped multi-tracked harmonies, and "Might As Well Have A Good Time," which received the bona fide CSN treatment. Most of the recording, however, features other voices in addition to the main trio, a first for any CSNY record, as is the number of outside writers. The song "Daylight Again" evolved out of Stills' guitar-picking to accompany on-stage stories regarding the south in the Civil War, segueing into "Find the Cost of Freedom," which had been the b-side of the "Ohio" single in 1970.

As the first album by the band in the video age, music videos were filmed to accompany the two lead singles, "Southern Cross," featuring the band and shots of one of their favorite metaphors, a sailing vessel, receiving a fair amount of rotation on MTV in 1982 and 1983.

STEPHEN STILLS NEW GROUP - THE RIDES CAN'T GET ENOUGH 180 GRAM LIMITED EDITION LP

 New Supergroup Releases New Album!
Stephen Stills, Barry Goldberg, Kenny Wayne Shepherd - The Sky's The Limit!!!
180g Vinyl Mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering! Pressed at URP!

New Album Featuring "Don't Want Lies" & "Search & Destroy"!

"A diesel-fueled jam!"
 - Rolling Stone

From a chance meeting at a Super Bowl jam session, Stephen Stills invited Kenny Wayne Shepherd to join him for an homage to his legendary "Super Session" Album. Musically, it was close to love at first sight, or perhaps first riff! What started as a fun idea turned into a year-long project, with songwriting wood shedding and of course, explosive guitar playing by two of the all time greats with production by Talking Heads alumna Jerry Harrison.

Stephen has not sounded so good since his CSN&Y glory days with "Don't Want Lies" and "Only Teardrops Fall". He also contributes "Word Game" - a vintage Buffalo Springfield politico anthem. Kenny Wayne who entered the scene as a great white hope of the blues at age 15, almost 20 years go, has matured into the best player of his generation. He even sings and sounds fantastic. Check out the guitar interplay on "Honey Bee" (with Barry Goldberg's fabulous piano) on "Talk To Me Baby" and Neil Young's classic "Rockin' In the Free World". With Stills, Shepherd and Goldberg joining forces to create the supergroup The Rides, the sky's the limit!

PLUS ANOTHER NEW VINYL LP OF STILLS & COLLINS EVERYBODY KNOWS WITH GATEFOLD JACKET & PRESSED ON YELLOW VINYL LIMITED EDITION - THIS ITEM IS SEALED BUT WE ARE NOT SURE THIS VINYL IS FLAT BECAUSE OF HOW IT WAS SHIPPED TO US.

Vinyl LP pressing in a gorgeous gatefold jacket with free poster. 2017 release. Judy Collins and Stephen Stills together at last! Two folk legends of Laurel Canyon's countercultural music scene join forces on this gorgeous album of all new recordings! Features captivating versions of classic tunes by fellow folk icons Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen plus a few of their own compositions! It was easy for Judy Collins to put a little something extra into her performance of Leonard Cohen's song "Everybody Knows" on the album. After all, it was Judy's encouragement and her recordings of Cohen songs like "Suzanne" and "Bird on a Wire" that helped get Cohen's career off the ground in the '60s. It was also in the '60s that Collins first met Stephen Stills (remember "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes"?) and first collaborated with him. In fact, this album features an update on the first song they wrote together, 1968's "Who Knows Where the Time Goes." Also here is "Judy," a duet version of a late-'60s Stills demo. Judy and Stephen's harmonies are just heavenly all across this recording, which also features a new spin on CSNY's "Carry On" and the new Collins composition "River of Gold".! .
