Original first pressing from 43 years ago...the first THEM album, a rousing turned-on hard cutting garage punk gem featuring Van Morrison at his sneering best!
The cover alone SO CLEAN and stiff makes for a GREAT upgrade to your old cover or nice first time score!
The "rare" 'Gloris / Here Comes The Night" sticker is affixed to front cover - was only on outside of shrink wrapper, and of course most folks tore off the outside wrapper alog with the sticker, so it's now very rare...also contains the 1965 Parrot/London Records inner sleeve!
Parrot Records, an imprint of London Records, was prompted to release a Them album in the early summer of 1965, when the group's third single, "Here Comes the Night," became a Number 24 hit in the USA. Its earlier single, "Gloria," had only gotten to Number 93 (it would re-chart in 1966 and get to Number 71, but be bested by a Top Ten cover by The Shadows of "Gloria."). U.S. "Parrot" deleted some of the British Lp tracks and added three strong tracks not on the English Lp -- "Here Comes the Night," "One Two Brown Eyes" and "One More Time." The resulting 11-track LP (mono & stereo) contained all three of Thems U.S. chart hits, ("Gloria," "Here Comes the Night," and "Mystic Eyes"), five other Van Morrison compositions, and such strong R&B performances as "Don't Look Back" and "Route 66," making it, a stronger release than the U.K. version. All in all one of the dynamic and riviting punk garage classics of the 60's. CONDITION: The cover is solid stiff, M- beautiful TOP COPY no problem -- a great display cover - no bends, no splits, no writing SOLID! Makes for a great up-grade to your old cover or terrific first time score!
The vinyl is "VG++" all glossy both sides, at worse a couple/few little superficial top surface hair thin scuffings here or there, nothing much, plays strong, better than grade = enjoyable!
