Description
This is Steve Dixon's first record for the small Smokey label in Mobile, Alabama. So obscure his later producer & songwriter Jerry Powell did not even know about it. Made under his real name Dickinson. The A side was written by Thomas Couch who ran the Harlem Duke Social Club in Prichard (not the Tom Couch of Malaco fame) this is in fact the deceased Mr.Couch's copy. Another copy recently showed up in Birmingham, Al and was sold for a considerable amount. This one will be sold - if interest looks reasonable 12 hours out I'll roll the dice. I have been holding it for about 5 years. Most of the Smokey stock was destroyed in a waterside storeroom subjected to a hurricane many years ago - I am confident this is easily the rarest item on the label. Any questions please ask.
Almost forgot to describe condition. First up both side play very well with minor pops/clicks and low even surface. Visual condition not as good. G+ into VG- Labels as shown.
