Description
STONE HARBOUR - "Re-Emerges"(2000,Void Records): This album is NOT a reissue of this Ohio band's 1974 haunting, psyched, primitive, loner, fuzz/garage"Emerges" LP; rather, this original-pressing vinyl LP from 2000 consists of re-recorded versions of songs that originally appeared on "Emerges". It also includes the original insert. Contains 11 cuts, direct from the Void Records vault. This was a limited pressing, and is long out of print. Unsealed never played, mint.
STONE HARBOUR - EMERGES - PSYCH / FOLK
Reissue of ultra-rare 70s private press underground psychedelic dreamy acid rock album. With 4 bonus tracks!
One of the weirdest, most tripped-out albums we've ever heard from the American underground of the 70s -- a spare and psychedelic album, and one put together with an echoey, garage-like sort of sound! Stone Harbour are hardly a group, and really just more of a duo -- vocalist Dave McCarty, who also plays drums and percussion, and guitarist Ric Ballas, who also plays organ, piano, synth, and bass on the record! The pair recorded this one album in early 1974 in Youngstown, Ohio -- hardly a hotbed of cultural activity, which is why the record remained unnoticed for so many years. Yet, despite its obscurity, it's a heck of a compelling little set -- a rough-edged set that blows away most other indie work from the time -- almost more psychedelic than some of the better-remembered work of the type in the late 60s.
