Description

" STRAVINSKY - LES NOCES / SYMPHONY OF PSALMS " - (ERNEST ANSERMAT / L'ORCHESTRE DE LA SUISSE ROMANDE) Decca Record Company Ltd.  (SXL 2277) STEREO, English Pressing, 1961.

Very rare first English stereo pressing with the original Decca FFSS label (both grooved and wideband - see close-up photo).

This record has been professionally cleaned on my Moth cleaning machine (Note: after cleaning such a record, I do not have the heart to put it back in it's original sleeve so I have put the cleaned record in a new inner and included the original so it is still complete).

In the good spirit of ebay, I will start this LP off at just 99p to get the auction going.

CONDITION:

VINYL = V.G.+ ( NO big scratches, groove damage, distortion, etc. Both labels are clean but with some light spindle trails, etc. However under my bright grading lamp I can make out a few paper-scuffs and more importantly, a couple of very faint surface marks which do not seem to correlate directly to any audible defects.
Generally plays strongly (hasn't been played to death... not muffled or distorted), although there is the occassional bit of faint backgroud surface noise audible during quieter moments of the recording and during the silent run-in, also during the quieter sections of the record there are occasional faint clicks - in my mind, these defects aren't loud or consistent enough to completely ruin the listening experience, but they do obviously devalue the record and it is only fair to point out so that potential bidders can take this into account when placing their max bids. Those looking for perfection would do best to look elsewhere though - in fact, there is a NM copy of this same LP currently listed on ebay for £95 GBP.
Providing you are prepared to accept that it is a less than perfect example and bid accordingly, this should make a good honest affordable copy for someone who intends to play it (and can't afford the afore-mentioned £95 GBP NM copy!).
Note: for the testing/grading of this record, I have used my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable, which is generally quite critical although I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP (or others I have for sale) will sound on your turntable - sorry to be so uptight, but I have met some very silly people on ebay over the years!)

SLEEVE = V.G. (NO rips, tears or big creases. But I have marked this sleeve down quite a but for; discolouration, small creases, a little bit of delamination along the spine and the rear of the sleeve which is very grubby, with ringwear and some small biro letters in the top right corner - see photo for further clarification)

NOTE: It's probably worth pointing out that we are an actual long standing physical shop and soundtrack-specialist mail order firm with literally decades of record dealing experience under our collective belts and unlike so many of the jokers and have-a-go heroes that currently clog up ebay, we know how to grade records (often an excellent LP from us will surpass a less reputable seller's so-called mint items). Please don't just go on gradings either, read my descriptions carefully and bid accordingly and if you have any queries about an LP I am selling, please get in touch in good time before the end of the auction and I will do my very best to assist. Feel free to check out my feedback for more detailed accounts of our past items sold.

HAPPY BIDDING!
