The classic Dorati stereo recording of Stravinsky's Firebird, on original 1960 US Mercury Living Presence audiophile LP SR90226. One of the all-time great recordings of this piece, and one of the greatest stereo recordings of any genre at any time. A classic music experience, only to be had with a truly great-condition original first pressing copy, which this is. The later represses are not nearly so present and downright three-dimensional. Not even the 180 gram reissues. This is the only way to hear it correctly, and this copy is in beautiful E++ condition, with only a couple of light scuffs which make for only a couple of places where there are only a few light pops. Most of the record plays very quietly and beautifully. There are, as I say, only a couple of spots with small pops, and it is light and brief. Really it is almost perfect. The quiet parts are quiet and the loud parts are stunning and clear. Truly a beautiful copy. The cover is almost perfect. This copy is hard to beat...
