Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 Uk albums that I have collected over a period of 45 years or more!. This is an early original 1st UK pressing of Stray "Mudanzas" released in 1973 on the Transatlantic labels in the UK.  It has always been stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records. Visually the vinyl looks barely ever played at all in my opinion. I struggle to see any spider traces around the spindle hole. No needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops just beautiful audio quality and fantastic bassey feel and separation only heard like this on the earliest pressings. Please listen to the recording in the player below. I would grade the audio at Near Mint throughout in my opinion. I don't think that you weill find a better sounding vinyl! The Most vibrant copy that I have heard truly amazing!
This is complete with the original 1st UK  printed die cut cover, original ist issue un laminated cover is also in top condition throughout Graded excellent-plus in my opinion!

For me the audio quality has always been my prime interest with vinyl.
Audio graded at Near Mint in my opinion!

Stray is an English hard rock band formed in 1966.

Vocalist Steve Gadd (born Stephen Gadd, 27 April 1952, Shepherd's Bush, West London), guitarist Del Bromham (born Derek Roy Bromham, 25 November 1951, Acton, West London), bass player Gary Giles (born Gary Stephen Giles, 23 February 1952, North Kensington, West London) and drummer Steve Crutchley (born 1952) formed the band whilst all were attending the Christopher Wren School in London. Richard "Ritchie" Cole (born 10 November 1951, Shepherd's Bush, West London) replaced Crutchley in 1968. They signed to Transatlantic Records in January 1970.

The group's brand of melodic, hook-laden hard rock proved to be a popular draw on the local club scene during the early 1970s. However the band did not have commercial success with its record releases.

At one stage Charlie Kray (brother of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie), was their manager. Gadd left the band in 1975 due to artistic differences and was replaced on vocals by Pete Dyer. The group's early musical style consisted of blues rock, acid rock and psychedelic rock. They then went on to join the hard rock and progressive rock movement.

The band served as the rhythm section alongside a string orchestra for the 1975 Jimmy Helms Pye LP, Songs I Sing.

The original Stray finally dissolved in 1977, although Bromham later continued to play in various resurrected versions of the project well into the 2000s.

By the 2010s the band had a settled lineup again, as well as Del Bromham, Pete Dyer returned and Stuart Uren (bass) and Karl Randall (drums) were regularly gigging as Stray.

In November 2016, the band hosted a 50th Anniversary celebration concert (featuring all original members) at a sold-out London Borderline.

The Matrix
Side 1 "ST-TRA-268-A1" ("PORKY" Hand Etched Only 1st UK Press)
Side 2 "ST-TRA-268-B2A"  ("STRAY" Machine Stamped)

NO Mother Stampers on both sides

The Vinyl
On visual inspection this looks superb in my opinion. Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal type/scuffs only. The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping. Importantly, there are no visual marks/scratches that would cause any loud constant clicks/ticks or pops during the play of this vinyl.

The Audio Quality
I have play tested the vinyl two times on two different turntables/systems at very loud volume prior to this listing. Once for you to hear the complete album. (Can be heard in the player above)
The moment that the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious to me that this has barely ever been played and certainly not overplayed at all. Any static/ticks/crackle heard was in between tracks or quiet places only. Crystal clear and vibrant stunning top audio throughout the play of this vinyl.   I would grade the audio at Very Near Mint!

Please note! Allowances must be made for these mid seventies pressings. They are notorious for static ticks/crackle or isolated pop in quieter places. I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for very light isolated static type static/ticks or isolated pop that might be noticed in quieter places, but not consistent through out the audio. Debrit was noted on the playing surface after play. A constant clean before each play is recommended because this vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for over 30 years. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static ticks/ crackle. constant cleaning before each play will reduce this and enhance the audio quality.

The Labels
These are the original 1st UK issue Transatlantic labels no real visable spider marks can be seen angled to the light only in my opinion. There is little if no spindle wear the hole is perfectly round. Loos almost as unplayed in my opinion! Very rare for a 46 year old record!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original plain white paper record sleeve. This is straight and generally clean with light creasing only.  There are no edge splits or tears. The vinyl is always stored separately from the vinyl. This is how I have always stored my records.

The Cover
This is the original 1st UK issue Un laminated Howards Printers Gatefold cover.  (no barcode only 1st press) Super clean and straight. No nasty creases to report and any storage wear is only really noticed if looked for in my opinion. Minor indents noted only really noticed if looked for in my opinion. The spine has absolutely no rubbing and is nice and square. Rich and very vibrant colours. Being primarily black in color these are often seen in a terrible state but this copt is exceptional in my opinion. I would grade this cover at least better than excellent in my opinion.
