Probably one of the most fun TAS picks on the entire list, DANCE MUSIC FROM THE TIME OF PRAETORIUS features Collegium Terpsichore playing period instruments, and is recorded very well indeed.
Released by Archiv, it contains dance music from the time of Praetorius (1600s). Lively, and full of wonderful melodies, I must tell you, there is an instrument here, it's a keyboard, that has quite a remarkable sound. To these ears, it sounds as if the keys play a very small-scale organ, almost flutelike in nature but with a touch more tonal heft. Anyway, it truly sounds as if it is being played right in your room, it is so crystalline in sonic nature. Quite startling, actually.
This is the original release: Softboard tri-gate has slightly softened, but is still handsome and quite presentable. Inside, is the original platter in near-mint shape.
Fabulous sound, worthy of the finest vinyl library.
