Description
This Suicide is a re-release of the American rock band Suicide’s self-titled debut studio album, which was originally released in 1977 on Red Star Records. It was recorded in four days at Ultima Sound Studios in New York, produced by Craig Leon and Marty Thau and featured Martin Rev’s minimalist electronics and harsh, repetitive rhythms paired with Alan Vega's rock and roll-inspired vocals and depictions of urban life.
This first US reissue by Red Star Records in 1980 features completely different cover art and three extra tracks: “I Remember”, “Keep Your Dreams”, and a live version of “96 Tears”. Omitted is the track “Girl”, which had appeared on the original release.
THIS COPY is one of a special limited edition that also includes a bonus 9" double-sided flexidisc, "23 Minutes in Bruxelles", recorded live in Brussels on 16 July 1978 and featuring a version of "Frankie Teardrop". The flexidisc has the first track and the last two tracks of the gig on side 1, and the middle two tracks on side 2. The songs on the flexidisc – which don’t seem to be documented anywhere in the package – are:
A1 - Intro / Ghost Rider
A2 - Dance
A3 - Frankie Teardrop
B1 – Rocket USA
B2 – Cheree
Unfortunately, this copy does not have the original “hype” sticker advertising the inclusion of the flexidisc – it must have been one of the ones with the sticker affixed on the outside of the cellophane and hence was lost when the cellophane was removed.
CONDITION: The vinyl is in Near Mint [NM] condition. The original cover is in Near Mint [NM] condition. The original inner sleeve is in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition. The flexidisc appears from a visual inspection to also be in Very Good Plus [VG+] condition; it has not been played this …uh… century. ;-)

These copies also have a custom "Limited Edition" sticker with the details attached to the outer shrink wrap (some stickers directly pasted on sleeve).
"Keep Your Dreams" was recorded live at CBGB's in NYC. "96 Tears" was recorded live at Kant Kino Auditorium in Berlin by Charles Ball of Lust/Unlust. Aside from "I Remember" all other LP tracks are identical to those on other releases.
The Flexidisc has the first track and the last two tracks of the gig on side 1, and the middle two tracks on side 2 ('Cheree' goes down quite well with the audience!)
Note this release was also issued in a standard edition, without the flexidisc and cover sticker.
