SUN # 257  ROSCO GORDON  - 78 RPM RECORD  -  SHOOBIE OOBIE/CHEESE AND CRACKERS

You are bidding on an excellent example of a 1956 Sun Record out of Memphis, Tennessee. The legendary Sun label owned by Sam Phillips where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash,Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Charlie Feathers, Billy Lee Riley, B.B. King and countless others walked across the threshold at 706 Union to make some killer recordings. Before Sam was knocking out Country and Rock-a-billy records he was listening to some great Gospel and Blues. This is a great example from Rosco Gordon. Rosco's Rhythm just jumps off the turntable on this one!

LABELS- Very Nice. No writing, tears, stickers or other distractions.

PLAYING SURFACES: VG + on the Cheese and Crackers VG ++ on the Shoobie Oobie (In 45 terms)  Some very light scratches. This played completely through on both sides with VERY SLIGHT surface noise. The Cheese and Crackers had some slight surface noise, Shoobie Oobie was clear as a bell.  As with many Suns it plays well. No cracks, warps,labels or other distractions.  Keep in mind that I'm a collector, not a grading expert. This is a beautiful piece for the Blues collector or Sun Completist!

NO RESERVE and the starting bid is 99 cents!  I will be listing 8- 9 other very nice Sun 78's records  on the same terms within the next 24 Hrs. so check back!You tell me what they are worth. Sure would love to keep the whole collection, but if you saw the basement, garage and storage area you would tell me to downsize. Also have dreams of buying my daughter an early Gibson "A" style mandolin for her birthday so it's time to raise some funds!!!

I prefer to ship USPS priority mail but am flexible.
