'A COMPENDIUM OF SPACE SOUNDTRAX' - This album is a great follow-up to their album 'Made In The Machine', which was very much in the electronic rock direction. 'Science Fiction' is a even more electronic album, the songs are shorter but super catchy. Over the years Sun Dial's catalogue has been in demand for various film and television soundtracks such as the acclaimed horror film 'Helen Alone' and documentaries on the history of the CIA/Vietnam/MK ULTRA. Of special interest to the band has been the music of sci-fi and space on celluloid such as 'THX 1138', '2001, A Space Odyssey' and 'Blade Runner'. Now, in a project spanning more than 20 years, Sun Dial have fulfilled a long term plan to release a collection of unreleased space themed soundtracks. This special collection is a very important landmark for the band and it sits perfectly with the ethos of Sulatron Records. CD includes 1 bonus track.
Sulatron Records ist stolz über die Zusammenarbeit mit einer DER britischen Neo-Psych-Bands: Sun Dial! Nach dem letzten Studioalbum „Made In The Machine“ kommt nun eine Art Nachfolgealbum: „Science Fiction, a compendium of space soundtrax“ als Limitierte CD und LP.
Sun Dial wurden 1990 von Multi-Instrumentalist Gary Ramon gegründet, welcher auch an vielen anderen Projekten beteiligt ist (z.B. seinem trancig trippigen Soloprojekt Quad), er betreibt außerdem auch das Label „Acme Records“.
In den mehr als 2 Jahrzehnten der Existenz der Band, wurden etliche ihrer songs für soundtracks verwendet. Z.B. für den Horrorfilm „Helen Alone“ sowie Dokus über die Geschichte der CIA und andere. Besonders hätten sie sich aber über eine Filmmusik eines Sci-Fi Films im Stil von „THX 1138“, „2001 A Space Odyssey“ und „Blade Runner“ gefreut. Um diesen Wunsch etwas zu befriedigen, haben sie Songs aus den letzten 20 Jahren selektiert, um ihren eigenen Soundtrack zu produzieren. Es war eine Herzensangelegenheit der Band dieses Album zusammenzustellen und es passt auch hervorragend in den Sulatron Katalog!
Die Songs sind zwar kurz, aber sehr catchy und erzeugen einfach eine wohlige Atmosphäre!
