MAGIC CONGREGATION / MARY MARTINICA ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by The SUNDAY BAND produced by IVANO FOSSATI. Original Italian pressing on the Cetra label (SPF 31318), from 1976. Really obscure and killer disco funk oddity from Italy. A studio collaboration by Gildana Caputo / Luciano Rossi / Ivano Lollio and Night Of The Wolf / Delirium Italian prog flute player, Ivano Fossati. All were co-writers of this single and some of these musicians are shown on the bizarre artwork sleeve. The MAGIC CONGREGATION side is a super-tight and super-infectious groove with electronic FX intro / fractured rhythms / psychedelic hippie flute breakdown midway and soulful vocal hooks. Close your eyes and you'd think this was an underground tune from the Backstreet Brit Funk compilation by Joey Negro. MAGIC CONGREGATION was also included in the Charles Bals - Outsider Disco Sound & Private '70s mix. Great for DJs. Booming production by Fossati. Seldom comes up for sale, especially with vinyl in near archive condition like this copy :) Very rare 45!!!  

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is closer to shiny M- condition with a few light hairlines from sleeve removal. Taken from an unplayed deadstock of records and played once for the recording of the soundclip. The laminated, paper picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with a small tear from storage (between the 'r' and 'y' of 'Mary' on front sleeve (same tear visible to left of the yellow sun on back sleeve). Corner and edge wear. Ring creasing from storage. Archive sticker to top right corner of back sleeve. Old sticker residue mark to top left corner of front sleeve. Very rare 45!!!
