SUPER GIRLS 4 LP SET - Supremes Chiffons Shangri-Las Marvelettes Vinyl Records.
The Phil Spector wall of sound is represented well on this compilation, as is The Beatles influences, as well as The Who. I make compilations all the time for my friends, so I'm usually a harsh critic of mixtapes and the like, but this anthology is excellent and with four LPs probably a surprise to the Warners brass.
When I first got this home, I thought that
4 LPs would cover more than the 50s and 60s but this is really well done especially listening to the whole thing at once. There's a great sense of pride and continuity as these girl groups like WNBA basketball can be soft yet there's a toughness there as well.
These 4 LPs play through without any issues LPs 2, 3 and 4 are mint but for whatever reason the first record has a couple hairline scratches, which takes the whole thing down to excellent.
The sleeve is VG+. This is my only album with four records inside. Brand new, archival, anti-static, non-scratching acid free inner sleeves are included, as well as a clear archival outer sleeve to protect the artwork.
