Description
SUPER RARE HALFNELSON (EARLY SPARKS) ORIGINAL LP OPEN BUT STILL HAS ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP COVERING THE JACKET
* FREE USPS PRIORITY MAIL SHIPPING IN THE US *
Made in the US / 1971 Record label: Bearsville BV 2048
Incredibly unique LP with 'Halfnelson' reflected on the LP jacket but 'Sparks' reflected on the actual LP labels! This was Sparks first LP and was released at the time they were changing their band name from Halfnelson to Sparks. Both record jacket and vinyl reflect the same 'Bearsville BV 2048' catalog info. The record was produced by Todd Rundgren.
Record Jacket/Sleeve Condition: Mint - While the item has been opened, the record jacket is still shrink-wrapped leaving the sleeve in near PRISTINE condition. The sleeve has been graded conservatively as Mint- due to the 'saw cut' in the lower left-hand corner of the front cover. Otherwise, the sleeve would be considered NM condition. There are no seam splits, creases or ring wear of any type on the record sleeve/jacket. Just below the Halfnelson image on the front cover, it 'appears' that there is evidence of slight record/ring wear - please note that this appears on the plastic shrink-wrap only and NOT on the actual sleeve. For an LP that is now 50 years old, this is in phenomenal condition!
Vinyl Condition: VG+ Vinyl is also in very good condition. There are some light smudges/scuff marks on both sides of the LP (some of which can be seen in the Side 2 photo of the vinyl), but not really any visible scratches. The tan-colored labels themselves are very clean, in great condition and the center holes are very much intact. The blank white vinyl sleeve is also intact and in excellent condition. Also noteworthy - the vinyl also has the Sterling matrix stamp on both sides of the LP. Sterling was one of the best mastering houses in the world - a Sterling stamp in the deadwax meant you were getting a top-notch, quality product.
This item has been stored in a clean, non-smoking environment for the last 35 years.
This item will be housed in a plastic record sleeve with the vinyl placed outside of the record jacket. The item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail in a sturdy cardboard mailer designed for mailing records and packaged with both cardboard inserts and bubblewrap for additional protection. Again, free USPS Priority Mail shipping in the US.
