Description

Wilhelm Furtwängler (conductor) / Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven: "Symphony N°3 "Heroica" op.55," Urania URLP 7095 MEGA RARE Original US MONO LP on old 50's label Urania (dark red and silver label).   RECORD'S CONDITION: I'm selling this record AS IS.  However, it does play very well!   SIDE 1: The first movement ("Allegro con brio") plays with some surface noise and only one loud pop; the second half of the movement is pretty clean with only minimal surface noise.  The second movement on Side 1 ("Marcia funebre") plays with a little less surface noise except for 8-10 revolutions at the beginning of the movement and 4 revolutions toward the middle, with a single pronounced pop at each rotation; the second half of the movement is pretty clean with very minimal surface noise.  SIDE 2: The third movement ("Scherzo") plays with some surface noise and quiet pops at the beginning, however surface noise dissipates during the second half of the movement.  The fourth movement ("Finale") plays pretty well, aside from a few isolated quiet pops and very minimal surface noise that is often inaudible underneath the music; half way into the "Finale," the surface noise almost disappears completely and the record plays quite cleanly.   MATRIX NUMBERS for the record are as follows -  Side one: E3KP-4554-1A. Side 2: E3KP-4555-1B.     JACKET'S CONDITION: EXCELLENT+ (very minimal wear).
