Description





Rare original 1967 pressing of "EIGHT DAY BLUES" and "FUNNY THINGS FLOATING" by Sweet Cherry on Stop Records 101. Vinyl has good gloss but scuffing on both sides: A Side is Graded VG+. High gloss with some scuffing. B Side is Graded VG-/VG. Good gloss with more significant scuffing resulting in some light surface noise plus a "thump" during the guitar break; plays much better than it looks. Two raw monster Michigan garage tracks. The record was self financed and produced by the band.

Listed as Number 183 in the G45 LEGENDS LIST (THE 1000 RAREST 60'S GARAGE 45'S ACCORDING TO LEGEND). A list of killers not fillers. Here's the write-up on the list:

183- Sweet Cherry - Eight Day Blues / Funny Things Floating from Michigan comes a two sided monster with a dirty guitar sound that goes way beyond a mere fuzz... guitarist Ray Souci (info thanks to Vernon Joynson and Steve Geer) manages to cream most fuzz-pedals even when he switches it off, and lyrically, from "Funny Things Floating"... "telephone booths don't grow no blueberries". This was thought to be a mega rarity in the class of the Keggs, but several copies have popped up, leading us to estimate as many as 15 copies in collections worldwide.
