Description
From the Paris of 1937 comes BILL COLEMAN AND HIS ORCHESTRA, with two great "Le Jazz Hot" tunes - "SWING GUITARS" and "BIG BOY BLUES."
These feature BILL COLEMAN (trumpet), FRANK "BIG BOY" GOODIE (tenor sax) and DJANGO REINHARDT (guitar) amongst others. Strangely, Django doesn't solo on "Swing Guitars," but he is heard comping vigorously on both sides, finally soloing eloquently on "Big Boy Blues."
This original 1937 French Swing 32 is in lovely EE- condition. It includes a lovely store sticker for "BROADWAY - 79 Champs Elysees, Paris."
I just dropped in on that address on Google Earth - the record store is gone with the wind, but there's a nice night club in its place! Also, dig the 1935 pictures of Bill Coleman, and especially of Django, who's looking all natty and William Powell-like, in a photo I never saw until now.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
