Description

Another VERY rare SWISS BEAT item: Live recording of the "1. Schweiz. Rhyhtm-and-Blues-Festival, recorded on the 25th November 1967 at the Hazyland in Zurich. This festival was organized by Swiss teen magazine "pop" and it's promotor Jürg Marquard and wanted to show the "progressive" and bluesy side of the SWISS BEAT scene. The great live recordings of this evening feature THE SHIVER (who later recorded the ultrarare album "Walpurgis"), doing covers by John Mayall and Buffalo Springfield(!!), Terry Walt and the Busted C.W, The ETC, The Black Birds, The Big Toga (a sort of Swiss Sixties "Supergroup" w. members of the Times and the Gamblers), The Cleans and the Walti Anselmo Trend, the group around Swiss Sixties guitar Hero Walti Anselmo, the Hank Marvin and Jimi Hendrix of Switzerland, who had famously opened both for the Stones in 1967 and his soul brother Jimi Hendrix in 1968 at the Hallenstadion in Zurich. The Anselmo Trend plays a Hendrix style version of "Walking The Dog"! This extremely rare Swiss Beat/Freakbeat/RnB document has photos of some of the artists on the back cover and liner notes on the back. Great EX/EX condition for sleeve and record, price sticker on front and three little "x" ink notations on back cover. This LP was released on the small JECKLIN label, Disco 1002 in VERY limited edition. Good luck!
