SXL 2006 wb+g Ed.1 – RICCI: MENDELSSOHN & BRUCH VIOLIN CONCERTOS, Blue Back
1958 Decca stereo recording catalogue number SXL 2006 with wide-band & groove label, Edition 1, with blue back sleeve. Ruggiero Ricci playing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor & Bruch’s Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor with Pierino Gamba conducting the London Symphony Orchestra.
The disc has been professionally cleaned and is in beautiful shiny condition. Side 1 has a very light inaudible scratch. At the start of Side 2 a very small light scratch produces 1 tick and there are a further 5 light ticks during the side – these are random and not on consecutive rotations. Overall the sound quality is superb. The "blue back" sleeve is clean and intact but rather scuffed at corners and edges and the flip-back at bottom edge is torn (see picture).
