SXL 2011 Wbg ED1 – ANSERMET – PETRUSHKA
Original Decca stereo SXL 2011 – wide-band & groove label, Edition 1 with blue back sleeve.
Ernest Ansermet conducting L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Stravinsky’s Petrushka.
This is the 1957 recording (issued 1958), especially chosen by Decca to form part of their first stereo releases.
The disc has several faint “smudge marks”. On side 1, track 1, there is a light inaudible hairline mark and a light mark producing 1 tick on track 2. Side 2 has 1 tick. The laminated sleeve is overall excellent with some wear at RH side where laminate does not reach the edge.
