Stravinsky, The Rite of Spring
Ansermet conducting L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
Original UK Decca Records stereo wide band "Original Recording" vinyl LP, SXL 2042.
Vinyl visually glossy with a few light scuff marks and gentle scratches, some more obviously visible.
A ticky and somewhat noisy copy however. A side is not too bad with background noise evident but never overbearing. The B side has mid-level crackle and periods of mid-level consecutive ticks, making this side an uncomfortable listen. A pity as the surfaces don't actually look too bad.
Labels are clean and without excessive spindle wear.
Original FFSS inner sleeve bright and clean with some light creasing.
External sleeve generally well preserved. Laminated front panel overall clean and bright. Some ringwear darkening and very minor smudging to matt white rear. A small red sticker to top right rear corner. Note that this is not a blue back sleeve.
So overall a shelf filler but perhaps a chance for a decent inner and outer sleeve replacement for a better vinyl copy.
