Description: -3 record set of Verdi's Aida, Decca UK pressing, Wide-Band Grooved labels. "Original Recording by" at 10 o'clock position. "FFSS" in circle. Not sure what pressing this is, see the matrix numbers above. Libretto booklet dated on last page: R.S. 4/11/59. Record & Booklet in Red Plastic Vinyl Sleeve (not folder), booklet slides in clear plastic sleeve on front, 3 lps slide inside main pocket. Booklet 28 pages. Also included yellow Ad banner, see photo below. Records in original lined inner sleeves.
Condition: -I'm not a pro at grading records so I will describe best I can, also see over 20 photos below of records, labels, booklet and sleeve. First off, there is some very light background noise. I don't have a proper cleaner, so these are uncleaned by me. The noise I hear is static-y dust noise. There is no popping or ticking sounds. I think most, if not all, the noise will be cleared by using a good cleaner or cleaning system. The music itself sounds wonderful. There are some light sleeve scuffs, and a few light lines on some of the sides. These are are very light surface marks, these do not affect play at all, none of them cause any ticking or popping noises. You can see the scuffs and marks I am talking about in the close -up photos below. Please note, these photos were taken under a bright halogen light and held at an angle so they would show up in the pictures, they are very difficult to see under normal light. The photos make them easier to see. Under normal light the vinyl is very shiny and looks unmarked. And as I said, none of this has any affect on the sound quality. All six sides play fine with only the very light background noise I mentioned. There are some spindle marks around center holes, see the close-up photos all six labels.
The booklet has some shelfware, a few light light creases, bumped corners. Slight wear but not abused at all. Inner liners also slight wear. The red plastic vinyl cover also has some wear, a tear in the clear plastic at top left (see upper left of first photo below), a split in the red vinyl at the top, seam, but under the clear plastic. See last photo below for this split, also see the one before that one for booklet and other cover photos.
Overall, a played, but well cared for set, not abused. Has been in storage for over a decade.

PLEASE READ THESE PARAGRAPHS ABOUT SHIPPING AND POSTAGE COST:
As you may have noticed lately, the shipping costs you see in auctions has really gone up! This is because in the last year the Post Office has not only raised its prices, it has also changed the way it determines how much it will cost to ship a package. The old way was based on the weight of the package, not the size of the box (unless it was very large). But now both the weight AND size of the package determines the cost of shipping.
As an example: Take the Priority Mail cost of sending from California (where I am) to New York two packages that each weigh exactly 2 pounds. The first box measures (in inches): 12x12x12, the second box measures 13x12x12. It will cost $7.50 to send the 12x12x12 inch box, but it will cost $25.05!!! to send the 13x12x12 inch box, even though they both weigh the same! Yikes! And if the box were bigger it could cost even more!
The reason I write this is to reassure you that I will always do my best to find the least expensive way of getting you your item. I will list the best shipping options available and I will use the smallest box that I can SAFELY package an item in, if it will save you money. (I pride myself on my packing, and I won't cut corners when it comes to careful packing. Check my feedback). This goes for foreign buyers as well as those in the USA.
And you pay ONLY the actual postage cost. I never charge for packing materials or charge a handling fee. And if I do happen to make a mistake in how much it costs to ship an item and you overpay on postage, I will ALWAYS refund the overcharge.
