Description: - 2 record set of Puccini's Tosca. UK Pressing. Wide Band grooved labels. "Original Recording by" at 10 o'clock on labels. Not sure if first pressing or not, matrix numbers are listed above.

Condition: -I don't feel confident just giving a rating to records, so I will describe best I can. Also see the many photos below.

The only really noticeable marks are two lines on the first band of side one, (you can see these in the 11th photo below) these are surface marks, they don't affect play, there is no ticking or popping when played through these marks. There are a few very small round pressing blemishes (see the 12th photo below, the round grey marks at upped right, they show grey in the photos, but black in normal light). There are a few light sleeve scuffs on each side (like shown in the 12th photo below) and a couple of the sdes have very light surface lines. These are all surface marks, none of them affect the play of the records, there are no ticks or pops, and obviously no skipping. The lines and scuffs are hard to see in normal light, I used a bright halogen light and the right camera angles to get them to show up in the photos below. Records have original sleeves. There are some spindle marks around the center holes (see close-up photos of labels below). I don't have a good cleaning system so these haven't been cleaned by me. There is some light background noise, but this is static-y dust type noise. I am sure most if not all of this can be cleared up with a proper cleaning. As I said, the light scuffs and marks have no affect on the records, these marks are hard to see in normal light. Set was well cared for, but has been unplayed for more then a decade, the music sounds wonderful, just needs a proper cleaning. The libretto booklet in is in good, shows a little shelfware, light smudges, light crease. The plastic folder is also in good shape, but also shows light shelfware, has some smudging and small tear at top of spine and a one inch tear on top seam of record holder sleeve. Otherwise no damage.

PLEASE READ THESE PARAGRAPHS ABOUT SHIPPING AND POSTAGE COST:
As you may have noticed lately, the shipping costs you see in auctions has really gone up! This is because in the last year the Post Office has not only raised its prices, it has also changed the way it determines how much it will cost to ship a package. The old way was based on the weight of the package, not the size of the box (unless it was very large). But now both the weight AND size of the package determines the cost of shipping.

As an example: Take the Priority Mail cost of sending from California (where I am) to New York two packages that each weigh exactly 2 pounds. The first box measures (in inches): 12x12x12, the second box measures 13x12x12. It will cost $7.50 to send the 12x12x12 inch box, but it will cost $25.05!!! to send the 13x12x12 inch box, even though they both weigh the same! Yikes! And if the box were bigger it could cost even more!

The reason I write this is to reassure you that I will always do my best to find the least expensive way of getting you your item. I will list the best shipping options available and I will use the smallest box that I can SAFELY package an item in, if it will save you money. (I pride myself on my packing, and I won't cut corners when it comes to careful packing. Check my feedback). This goes for foreign buyers as well as those in the USA.

And you pay ONLY the actual postage cost. I never charge for packing materials or charge a handling fee. And if I do happen to make a mistake in how much it costs to ship an item and you overpay on postage, I will ALWAYS refund the overcharge.
