SXL 2222 wb+g Ed.1 – BACKHAUS: BRAHMS PIANO RECITAL
1958 Decca stereo recording on original wide band with groove label edition 1. Wilhelm Backhaus playing piano works by Brahms: Six Pieces Op.118; Capriccio Op.76 No.2; Rhapsody Op.79 No.1; Four Intermezzi – Op.116 No.6, Op.117 No.1, Op.119 No.2, Op.119 No.3.
The disc has many visible marks. On side 1 there are about 15 light ticks (not intrusive). On side 2, track 1 has faint cackle for a few seconds at start plus 12 ticks; track 2 has 1 loud tick at start plus 3 light ticks; there is a VERY brief crackle in track 3 and a further 12 light random ticks throughout the rest of the side. The sleeve has a 2cm split at bottom right corner plus edge and corner creasing. Rear has ink note and age spots.
