Description
Deutsche Grammophon 139270/72, Henryk Szeryng plays "6 Sonaten und Partiten fur Violone Solo" by J.S.Bach. Original German pressings with tulips around perimeter of label. The lps are in near mint condition with the exception of a 8mm mark in the middle of the famous chaconne (groan…). The good news is that this barely sounds. I have added an mp3 of the section that straddles this mark (played on my Technics SL-110/SME3009/Goldring 1042 combination) so that you can decide for yourself if this is acceptable:
The box is in excellent condition with just a thumbnail indentation to the left of the portrait and a very small amount of foxing on the rear. The edges of the box and especially the spine are very clean & crisp. The original polythene sleeve is included and although it was clumsily opened when new this has the red DG label on it! The insert has a little creasing to the covers from light use. I have tried to make the photos as clear and accurate as possible so that you can get a good idea of the excellent condition of the box, label & insert.
This is a beautiful recording in superb condition and is a really rare item. Good luck!
