Originally issued in 1994, 'The Best Of Sade' is the sublime British act's first hits compilation and it gathers 16 of their biggest singles, rarities and most beloved tracks. Sade's crystalline singing defined a certain brand of musical cool for mid-1980's pop yet the band's overwhelmingly fine musicianship - never pushy, always understated, the height of sophistication - is always abundantly evident in the songs as well. 'The Best Of Sade' showcases the extraordinary longevity and creativity of this brilliant artist - with definitive classics like 'Smooth Operator,' 'The Sweetest Taboo' and 'No Ordinary Love' - and it dominated the charts in both 1994 and 1995, going quadruple-platinum in the US and selling more than 2 million copies in Europe. After this compilation was released, Sade would continue to perfect and evolve their sound making this Best Of collection the perfect bridge to the group's later work.
