Description
Up for auction here is the very rare and sought after self-titled LP by Sage and Seer. I have only seen three of these records ever. It is in NM condition throughout, has original lyric poster, and is still in original shrink, making it the finest copy of this album I have ever seen. Sage and Seer is a classic Lite-Psych group from Colorado, formed by Don Beckmann and David Rea. Released in 1969 on Stylist stereo Records. Catalogue number SA-600. I believe this to be a first-pressing. Unusual item for a private press as it's an ambitious and elaborate lyte-psych effort that would have fit well on Epic or ABC. There are a few standout tracks, but all are filled with well-orchestrated string and horn sections. Influences are mainly British with obvious nods to 1967 Donovan and the Beatles. The artwork is representative of the era, psychedelic, acidy and beautiful. TRACKLIST: SIDE A: Pictures through a Sunday Afternoon, She Died Again, Candle, I've Cried, Time has Come Between Us, Be Still when You Cry. SIDE B:Clarissa, I Want You to Know, All Those Yesterdays, No, Blue Blue and Blue, Farewell St. John. CONDITION: Jacket:NM virtually no signs of wear whatsoever. Vinyl:NM I opened this record (I couldn't resist) and I've only played it a couple times. There are a few very light whispy paper marks. Green Lyric Poster is pristine. Labels are pristine. Only in regret am I letting go of this, a gem of my record collection. The overall condition of this record is NM and as good as new. It is a must for any collection of rare, psych, or rock records.
