Saint Steven - Same (Over The Hills/ The Bastich)
(Probe US 1969) Original US Gatefold Pressing VG++/EX
Along with the Steve Morgen LP, this is the best and most sought after on the label. Great songwriting, unusual happenings, imaginative effects, fuzz guitars and dreamy melodies. This has it all and is in my opinion a mini masterpiece of US psychedelia.
Condition
The gatefold sleeve looks very nice and has crisp and sharp corners and edges showing a little wear. The middle gatefold is EX while the reverse sleeve is showing a little ring wear. There looks like a very small area of sticker damage in the top right front corner, but it is barely noticable really. In general a very nice example of this sleeve I would grade as VG++.
The labels are super clean with no spindle wear at all indicating little if any play.
The vinyl even under bright light is virually unmarked and could easily be graded M-, though I will settle for a more conservative EX. Audio is stunning.
Grading
M- As new, no marks of any kind whatsoever.
EX Perhaps a few featherlight whispy marks, but no scratches or deterioration in sound
VG+ Some light marks on the vinyl, but nothing that should cause clicks or pops, just occasional light surface noise.
VG Some heavier marks and maybe a few scratches that will cause some noise, but will still be a very enjoyable listen with definitely no sticks or skips or constant surface noise.
