You are looking at an exceedingly rare and wonderful record. This is Sam Rivers' 1966 Liberty Blue Note release "A New Conception". This was released AFTER Blue Note was sold to Liberty, so keep in mind, you will not see original Blue Note copies. I'm not certain if this is Mono or stereo. While all numbers on the labels and run out indicate stereo, it sounds to my untrained ear that is mono. According to one collector on Discogs, there may not be a MONO pressing of this record at all. The numbers in the run out are side A: (first a scratched out "BST-82249-1") and then "BST-81249-1" and side B: "BST-84249-B". There are no other markings on the run out. The labels look like the 1966-70 labels should look. The sleeve has some wear, with the worst being a slit in the top of the sleeve (as pictured). The vinyl itself is in great condition. I'm guessing it wasn't played much. The highlight of this copy is the fact that it is a promotional (DJ) copy; the sleeve is stamped on the front, upper-left corner (see pics). I'm not sure how many of these are floating around, but it must be rare. I will also include a heavy-duty toploader to keep the record safe and for nice display. Anyone who collects Liberty Blue Note records knows that there can be a good deal of variation on sleeves, labels, and run out pressing/etchings.
